ANS: Describe the relation between volume and density of liquid

A change in the density of a liquid is a change directly and definitely related to the real or absolute expansion of the liquid and is thus quite unaffected by the expansion of the containing vessel; so that, from the densities of a liquid at two temperatures, its mean coefficient of absolute expansion for that range can be obtained straightaway, as connecting the densities of a liquid at two temperatures with its expansion coefficient for that range and have been used in the experimental determination of the latter.

The relation also hold good in the SI system, but the density is measured in kg/m3.
