Here, K.E. = ½ mv2 = 5 MeV

= 5 × 1.6 ×10-13 J,

θ = 10˚, Z = 79, b=?

As b = Ze2 (cot θ/2)/4∏∊0 (1/2 mv2)

b = 9 × 109 × 79 (1.6 × 10-19)2 cot 5˚/5 × 1.6 × 10-13

= 9 × 79 × 1.6 × 1.6 × 10-16/8 × 0.0875                    (cot 5˚ = 0.0875)

b = 2.6 × 10-13 m
